Akida Maxwell, MBA

First Sergeant (Ret.) Akida P. Maxwell is a Senior Logistics Manager/Chief of Installation for Logistic Management Institute (LMI), a private, not-for-profit Corporation that provides management consulting, research, and analysis to government and other nonprofit organizations.  1SG (Ret.) Maxwell joined LMI in August of 2013 and brings his experience in project management, information technology, and aligning performance measures with organizational missions.  His background provides the Board with expertise in managing diverse issues and people.

 

Prior to joining LMI, 1SG (Ret.) Maxwell served in the United States Army for over 23 years.   His military assignments include, 1SG for A Co, 71st Transportation Battalion, Fort Lee, Virginia; Basic Officer Leader Course TAC Noncommissioned Officer, Fort Lee, Virginia; Material  Management NCO, Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois;  Operations NCO, HHC 526th Brigade Support Battalion; Platoon Sergeant, A Co 526th Brigade Support Battalion; Small Group Instructor, Primary Leadership Development Course, Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Material Management NCOIC and  Procurement NCO, HHC 501st Corps Support Group, Camp Red Cloud, Korea; Supply Support Activity NCOIC, A Co 8-101st Aviation Battalion, Fort Campbell, Kentucky; TAMMS/PLL NCOIC, HHC 1-502nd Infantry, Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Automated Logistics Supervisor, HQ & A  Co 725th Main Support Battalion, Schofield Barracks Hawaii; Operations Specialist, NCO Academy, Fort Stewart, Georgia; Supply Specialist, 48th Maintenance Company, Wildflecken, Germany.

 

1SG (Ret.) Maxwell’s military awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal w/8 Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal w/5 Oak Leaf Clusters, Good Conduct Medal (6), Professional Development Ribbon (3), Overseas Service Ribbon(5), National Defense Service Ribbon w/service star, Army Service Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal w/service star, Iraqi Campaign Medal with two service stars, NATO Medal, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge and Drivers and Mechanic’s Badge.

 

1SG (Ret.) Maxwell is a native of Fort Worth, TX.  He earned an Associate of Degree from Central Texas College in 2003. He also earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration/Management in 2009 and a Master of Business Administration Degree with a concentration in Human Resource Management in 2011 from Columbia Southern University, Orange Beach, Alabama.
