Muhammad Rashid, MBA

Muhammad Abdur-Rashid currently serves as Director for Major and Planned Giving at the National Park Foundation in Washington, DC where he specializes in fundraising and project development aimed at getting young people of diverse backgrounds into our national parks. His work also supports the nearly 50 national park sites dedicated to the history and cultures of peoples of color in the United States. Prior to joining the National Park Foundation in 2013, Muhammad served as the Director of Development for the College of Arts and Sciences, the Division of Fine Arts and the Graduate School at Howard University. As the Director for Development at Howard University, Muhammad raised funds and designed programs that contributed to Howard’s rich legacy.

 

Muhammad began his career with Prudential Securities, Inc. as a law claims analyst. He left the financial services industry as an Assistant Vice President with what is now known as Wells Fargo Financial. Muhammad also has a passion for peace and social justice.  He supports several initiatives working with equity and diversity, particularly around international affairs issues.

 

Muhammad earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Johnson C. Smith University. He earned a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and Policy with a focus on International Development from Howard University. He is currently completing his Ph.D. in International Relations and Public Policy with a specialization in alternative dispute resolution models for inter and intra state conflicts from Howard University. Muhammad is a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
